New post AR.Drone Take Off Problems
Hi,

I am in Sydney, Australia and bought an AR. AR.Drone today but am having some problems with it.

When I try to take off, the AR.Drone will lift about 10cm off the ground and then veer off in a random direction.

I am current running firmware version 1.4.6 with FreeFlight 1.6

I have tried rolling back the firmware to 1.3.3, and have tried using the DroneControl iPhone app.

Nothing I have tried has lead to a successful take off and getting into a hover. Currently I have only tested inside.

This has happened to me.

Upon take off, steer downwards to keep it low.
Failing that, try putting ya foot on it upon take off, and steer down, then move foot.

Mines only done it after a nice bump in the wall which caused it to down shutdown.

After it takes off, and you've steered down, it should hover, and then should take off normally.

I will give that a try, but it has been doing this since it came out the box, so if it does turn out to be hardware related might be best just taking it to the store to swap it out for another one.
