Nexus 7 can't launch in any app, HTC Sensation works fine

Unread post by mikemike » 22 Dec 2012, 14:00

I have a HTC Sensation phone, Google/Asus Nexus 7 tablet and an iPad.

iPad works fine. Sensation works fine.

Nexus 7 connects perfectly and I see the live stream coming from the cameras. However, on the Nexus I am unable to take off.

I have tried both the default FreeFlight app and the ARDrone Flight Pro app, and neither 'Launch' the drone. In FreeFlight I just get the 'Loading...' screen when I hit the Pilot button, in Flight Pro I get the camera feeds but there is no 'Launch' button so I cannot take off. I have tried with aeroplane mode both on and off and tweaked some other settings to no avail. Quite annoying.

This is version 2 of the drone - it is brand new.

Any ideas?

Have you changed altitude settings in ARDrone Flight Pro? There's a known bug in there with app compatibility...

Try connecting with your HTC and change the altitude setting to 3meter... Save changes

Then do that on your nexus 7 BEFORE you connect to the drone... Save changes

Also in the nexus 7 settings... Click WiFi/settings/advanced... Make sure WiFi optimization is NOT checked so you are getting full WiFi power

Nope, no luck. Settings were correct on Nexus and FreeFlight was already set to 3m. I've also just tried reverting everything to default via the HTC but Nexus still the same issue

Is your nexus 7 rooted running a different ROM or kernel? I had this issue as well, I had to flash the n7 back to stock to get it to connect to the drone.

Nope, its a standard unmodified nexus 7 about 3 months old and hardly used.
